About Us

The Texas Entrepreneurs Association (TTEA) is a start-up organization comprised of professionals in Texas that share one common goal: to one day run their own enterprises. TTEA’s focus is to develop an environment that fosters networking, skill development and community outreach for current and aspiring entrepreneurs across Texas.

History of TTEA

The Texas Entrepreneurs Association was conceived by Chad Hufsey, Elliott Kruppa and Ted Maa in 2007 to provide a resource and forum for people with an entrepreneurial spirit to develop their network and business skills through speaker and networking events, focused workshops and a resource driven website.

Mr. Kruppa and Mr. Maa first met at The University of Texas in the Fall of 1999 and throughout their time there, worked together on various academic and extra-curricular projects. Following graduation in 2003, both began working in Houston, where they again teamed up to work on various business and real estate ventures. Mr. Kruppa met Mr. Hufsey after joining Quantum Energy Partners where they worked on various private equity transactions together and often discussed business and investment ideas during their free time. Mr. Kruppa then introduced Mr. Hufsey to Mr. Maa where the trio worked on various business and real estate investments together.

Feeling that Texas (and the Houston area, specifically) was lacking a true entrepreneurial based education and networking organization, the Founding Members formed The Texas Entrepreneurs Association in an effort to develop an environment that fosters networking, skill development and community outreach for entrepreneurs across the state of Texas.
